Hello! I’m Alexis! Welcome to The Crafty Nurse Blog

I’m a vascular medicine nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and currently pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) to become a nurse practitioner.

My Journey

I created this blog to combine my two passions: sewing and nursing. My love for sewing started at a young age, thanks to my grandma, a talented seamstress. After her passing, I took a break from sewing until the pandemic reignited my passion. Now, I can’t stop! My goal is to create clean, modern pieces that look store-bought but are lovingly handmade.

Why The Crafty Nurse?

I also wanted to share my nursing journey and offer tips and ideas to help nursing students succeed. Balancing nursing school, working long hours, and taking care of a toddler has been challenging but achievable. I hope my experiences inspire you to succeed in nursing school and spark your creativity in sewing.
